Metal candle holders offer antique collectors and decorators unique pieces of art for the home while being functional as well. Hand crafted metal candle holders are popular among artisan collectors for the varied material they are made of. For decorators, metal candle holders make a perfect tool for decorating any room of the house. Metal candle holders are also great decorations for the holidays to dress up the table or fireplace mantel.
The art of making candle holders started out as a necessity when candles provided the only source of light in homes. These early examples of metal candle holders remain prized possessions for those who collect candle holders and antiques. During the Colonial period metal candle holders were used for lighting the home and for telling time. One story tells of a spiral shaped metal candle holder that was used when a young girl would have her boyfriend visit the family home. The candle holder held a long tapered candle and would be lit when the boy arrived at the house. When the candle burned down to a certain length, the girls suitor was expected to leave. Old examples of metal candle holders were usually made of forged iron or heavy tin. Many of these collectible pieces still exist today and are relatively inexpensive to collect.
Although metal candle holders were once a necessity, they now serve more as beautiful pieces of art in dcor in homes all around the world. Metal candle holders, whether made with a simple tin can or forged iron are also practical because they are much more durable and less prone to breakage. Most wrought iron metal candle holders can be purchased relatively inexpensively. Metal candle handles can also be found adorned with ornate decorations such as beaded chains, crystals and other gems.
Candle holders made out of metal are crafted from a wide variety of metal materials including bronze, iron, brass, sterling silver, aluminum, silver, steel and wrought iron. The sizes of metal candle holders vary as well, according to their intended use. Some candle holders are large and hold many candles that can light up an entire room. Others are smaller types designed to hold one tapered candle. Less popular, but still very desirable among decorators are forged iron candelabras.
Metal candle holders made of iron are very popular as decorative pieces today. These candle holders are often made by hand or are of forged or hammered iron. These handcrafted items offer quality, durability, uniqueness, and value. Artisans who make these metal candle holders out of iron make these pieces one at a time using the centuries old process of heating the metal in fire and hammering it into the desired shape or configuration.
Metal candle holders can be found all over the world. New pieces are easily located at almost any store that carries decorative items for the home. Both large and small metal candle holders are made in all shapes and sizes. Look for handmade metal candle holders at arts and crafts fairs where artisans sell their unique pieces of art.
PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor Programming is a server-side Script based programming language. Server-side script means the script that the server possesses before the HTML file containing those scripts are transferred to the browser of the client. Scripts PHP Programming is software programming that is used for web hosting and web developing. However, all web platforms and web servers do not allow PHP programming to be executed in them. Win32 platform is one such web platform where PHP is not possible. Programmers having knowledge of PHP programming have a demand in IT Community.
PHP is popular amongst most web-scripting program present today.
The reason for the popularity is as follows:
The roots of PHP Programs are in C & C++ and finds similarity with C++ and C syntax. It is easy to manipulate and learn for all programmers. The back-end tool for PHP is My SQL. The interfacing property of My SQL, an online database, matches properly with PHP. Webmasters, who want to make their web sites automated, look for My SQL and PHP as the best option for making their website dynamic. Operating System like Windows and Unix supports PHP Programming Language. The output buffering of PHP language is very powerful and helps in increasing output flow. The rearrangements of buffer in internal PHP programming helps the header to be arranged before the contents of the web page.
PHP has a dynamic property and works combined with HTML to display elements dynamic in nature on the web page. PHP has the property to parse codes within its own delimiters. PHP did not parse anything outside of its delimiters and all those elements left are sent into the output.
Varying types of Relational Database Management Systems can combine with PHP programs and run on different popular web servers. The combination also works for different O.S. as well. PHP Program provides quality assurance and is a secured, fast, reliable and a cheap option for developing and hosting applications on the web.
PHP Programming is free and simple to use than their .net-programming counterpart. However, .net-programming allows use of crystals for report creation and a complex system can be easily executed by using .net.
Even SAPI or a command line interface is provided by PHP for desktop applications and shell improvement, parsing of log, daemons etc. it is increasingly being used on command lines which have been conventionally used in shell scripting, Perl, Awk or Python.
The principal focus of web designing using PHP programming has now shifted to server side scripting from the initial focus which was to create dynamic web pages. The PHP program can take out input from different streamed files containing different PHP instructions and can output them or display them in another stream of data.
PHP programming is the new revolution of the world!

You know what? Buying a TV isn’t the same old process that it used to be. Long gone are the days when you could walk into Sears with your wife, pick your favorite CRT television and be on your merry way. Nope. Thing are much much better now! A side consequence of the information revolution is that the free flow of information gives the consumer a definite advantage over the dealer. No matter what claim is made about the ‘incredible deal’ you are about to receive on your new plasma or lcd television set, the information is easily verifiable with a few simple Google searches or mouse clicks.
Lets take a quick look at some of ideas you can use to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck in your new television selection.
a) Take your time. Just because a LCD TV is on sale, it doesn’t mean that the TV is going to go away forever. There are tons of different resources out there for you to peruse before investing several thousand dollars in a brand new big screen television set. ConsumerReports.org is one of them that I use frequently. There are a ton of others.
b) Compare offline closeout sales with the deals you can find online. Big Box retailers can sometimes offer incredible discounts to what you see online. We’ve found that the best strategy is to straddle both the online and the offiline world. Make sure what you are doing is maximizing your bang for your buck.
c) Don’t be afraid of non name brand merchandise. Well, lets put a caveat on that. Make sure the model you buy is from a somewhat decent manufacturer but the manufacturer doesn’t have to be a world famous one. Sometimes what you are paying for is a high ticket brand name and not a great product. A new plasma tv by a not so well known manufacturer might be just as good as a new name brand one.
There are hundreds of other tips to buying the LCD or Plasma TV of your choice and these are just the tip of the iceburg. In fact, some of the best kept secrets to buying a big screen tv make these items seem insignificant in comparison. Learn them all and get the best deal possible.
It is a little known fact that birth control medications rely heavily on the body’s natural biochemistry. A large number of pharmaceutical birth control products work by affecting the chemical or hormonal balance of the body to prevent pregnancy. While most of these medications are designed to be able to work despite the multitude of variables that cannot be fully accounted for in the body, that doesn’t mean that they work no matter what. In particular, the drug interaction between antibiotics and birth control pills has been noted to be rather antagonistic towards one another. A number of antibiotics have been noted to interfere with how some birth control methods work, though other types of contraceptive pills work just fine. It is currently believed that something about the way antibiotics and birth control medications work is making them incompatible with one another on a chemical level, though it is still unknown what.
A cigarette is a pipe with a fire at one end and a fool at the other said Dr. Johnson in his sarcastic comment on cigarettes and smoking.
Smoking is in fact a pernicious craving for tobacco products, especially cigarettes and cigars.
An organic compound, nicotine, which is richly found in tobacco smoke, is very detrimental to your health. It is linked with various health risks. It can cause diseases of the cardiovascular system, myocardial infarction (heart attack), stroke, diseases of the respiratory tract such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) chronic bronchitis and emphysema, cancer (particularly lung cancer and cancers of the larynx and tongue), peripheral vascular disease, birth defects of pregnant smokers’ offspring, Buerger’s disease (thromboangiitis obliterans), impotence, and in some cases it may develop cataracts that may cause blindness.
The statement One thousand Americans stop smoking every day – by dying ironically expresses the risks of smoking.
Sooner or later, everyone stops smoking. Major health risks can be minimized by cessation smoking. Smoking cessation means to quit smoking, but the cardinal point is how to quit smoking.
Smoking can be quitted by using nicotine-containing tobacco substitutes. Nicotine replacement therapy has been quite an effective treatment. It uses various other nicotine delivery methods to replace nicotine obtained from smoking or other tobacco usage. The nicotine patch, inhaler, nasal spray, gum, gel, and lozenge are some effective tools of NTR. Nicotine gum is a chewing gum, which delivers nicotine to the body.
Nicotine patches are also used to quit smoking. Nicotine patches are transdermal patches that release nicotine into the skin. The patch therapy has been considerably successful in helping many people quit.
Hypnosis Stop-Smoking programs are another alternative that can help people who seriously want to quit.
Quit smoking help with hypnosis involves consultations and sittings with a hypnotherapist, who generally squeezes out the reasons for ones smoking and the reasons for wanting to quit. Various hypnotherapy techniques, positive affirmations, and suggestions, are used to help the patient undertake a change of mindset and therefore quit smoking. Tools like stop smoking tapes or CDs are provided to the patient. Quit smoking hypnosis therapy is also proving to be a great quit smoking support.
The best way to quit smoking is to develop a strong will power to want to quit smoking. People who have weak will power cannot quit smoking. Weak will power can make even the effective therapies useless.
James I of England expressed his hate for smoking while he quoth, A custom loathsome to the eye, hateful to the nose, harmful to the brain, dangerous to the lungs, and in the black, stinking fume thereof nearest resembling the horrible Stygian smoke of the pit that is bottomless.
Smoking is not only injurious to health but rather to society also. It should be eradicated as early as possible.
Today, look high and low, and what do you see? Airhead behavior in fact, so much of it that its threatening to become the new human norm. What is going on here? And can we find hope anywhere?
Yes. Where, you may ask? Well take a look.
But to infuse the proceedings with appropriate levity, lets first present NewsLaughs Ten Slams For New Heights In Underachievement.
Then well turn to those gifted and resilient human beings who refuse to partake in the worldwide slide toward the moronic and, instead, valorously persist in their commendable quest for overachievement.
Here are Ten Slams For New Heights In Underachievement
1. The insurgents in Iraq, for explosively undermining the peaceful and progressive rebuilding of their own country, along with terrorists everywhere, for cloaking murder with religious-speak apparently without realizing that their verbal yip God is great and operational guideline Life is cheap are at idiotic odds with each other, since, if God is great, Hed only make great things, just alike a great dumbbell maker would only make great dumbbells.
2. The Taliban in Afghanistan, for managing to preserve themselves from any notion of truly religious behavior, which must, for all Gods chillin, include effusive mutual consideration, not to mention the same for ones perhaps turban-tossing self, as well as Islamic militants of similar ilk wherever they so mercilessly inflict their airborne medievalism.
3. The Palestinians who keep firing rockets at Israel, which are actually metaphorical rockets theyre firing at their woeful selves.
4. The Iranian mullahtocracy for alarming the world and any sane member of their own society by the senseless and impossible pursuit of nuclear hegemony in the region and threats to civilized folks with far more weaponry.
5. The warring factions in Somalia and Darfur for managing to starve, rape, and kill off tens of thousands of their own men, women, and children, along with the equally insightful bombers in Bali who apparently think blowing up innocent people is the way to have their God reach down and drag them to paradise by their religiously motivated beards.
6. All governments who shrug their shoulders at the human role in making the globe too toasty for the survival of the Dairy Queen and other aspects of human life that require cooler temps to continue.
7. People on the home front who cant seem to restrain themselves from killing members of their own families, not to mention other innocents who happen to get in the way of their illicit intentions, and the occasional person who still seems to find it necessary to eat a fellow human being.
8. Men who insist on kidnapping and sexually molesting women, whether age 5, 25, or 95.
9. Corporate execs who cant seem to keep their fingers out of the till or otherwise take the companies theyve been trusted to conduct will skill for a mighty big spill.
10. Young people who havent got enough of a notion of their own self-worth and the worth of other people, including their distressed parents, to lay off of all forms of destructive behavior and tune into the still faint bleeping of their own best potential.
Now, with a spectacular increment in our approval rating, as well our joy, lets turn to our countervailing consolation and praiseworthy hopes: the gifted and resilient people who continue to aim for the heights of human achievement, despite the pervasive idiocy that encroaches on their persistent positive bents.
1. Medical researchers who carry on with their life-enhancing quest for drugs that will cure cancer, treat AIDS, depopulate mosquitoes, and address other amenable causes of human misery.
2. Tech wizards, who wake up each day bright-eyed in their goal of advancing the revolution in communication, mechanical medicine, and all other promising fields of extrapolation.
3. Politicos and execs who are worthy of the trust that leadership entails and distinguish themselves in the service of its inspiriting call.
4. People who really do believe in freedom and democracy, which, inconveniently for many, includes the wisdom to abstain from trying to make everybody march in lockstep with their own less than universally inviting enthusiasms.
5. Artists and academics who understand that a free mind can only cavort on a stage supported by a free economy, wooly wild and discomfiting that many of its aspects may be.
5. NASA, for continuing to believe in the benefits of space exploration, even in the face of so many short-sighted cutbacks that the space age is beginning to feel like a dream of a more farseeing age.
7. All teachers who care, except those who cant seem to resist sexually molesting the student body.
8. Smart people everywhere, including Bill, Melinda, and Warren for philanthropy that proves Santa Claus doesnt always dress in red and say, Ho, ho, ho!
9. Nice people anywhere, no matter how smart, dumb, educated or ignorant they are.
10. Everybody who appreciates the finally incomprehensible gift of life and knows that doing the best we can with it is the surest way to distinguish our own lives and express reverence for whatever gifted it.
May the first ten winners read about the second ten and decide to join them. Billions would cheer. And really soon would be a real boon.
The final match-up of the World Baseball Classic featured two teams from countries where baseball is a beloved sport – Cuba and Japan. Both countries are noted for producing fine players, some of whom are enjoying stellar careers in America. Presently, Ishiro and Matsui from Japan are two of the best and most consistent players in the majors. Making it in the big leagues in America is a big deal in Japan, a country that loves baseball and embraces its own professional teams.
American teachers first introduced the game to the island country in the 1870s, and it firmly took root. By the turn of the century, it was a sport throughout the nation and in 1936 the first professional teams were established. The current professional structure was created in 1950, with teams playing in either the Pacific League or the Central League.
The exchange of players between the Japanese leagues and Major League baseball is not a one-way street. The first American to play baseball in post-World War II Japan was Wallace Kaname Yonamine, a Nisei Japanese American who had played NFL Football but never had a spot on a Major League Baseball club. Yonamine had a Hall of Fame career in Japan.
When major leaguers from America first started to compete in the Japanese League, they were often at the end of their careers. In 1962, right-handed pitcher Don Newcombe became the first MLB player to sign and play with a team in Japan. During his 10 years in the majors, Newcombe posted a 149-90 mark, with 1129 strikeouts and a 3.56 ERA. He is still the only player to win Rookie of the Year, MVP and the Cy Young. Newcombe was the first of many Americans to go to the Far East to play what many consider “the” American sport.
In the past decade something has changed concerning the emigration of professional players from America to Japan. The men who go to the Japanese League are no longer at the end of their careers. They are now, more often than not, mid-career players who cant seem to find an everyday role on a major league team. Often, these players decide to go to Japan because they will have a chance to contribute every day.
Some players find a home away from home in Japan, while others go and get some daily experience and come back to parlay that into a starting role in MLB. Still, others struggle in their foreign environs and come back looking to play in the big leagues, even if its as a utility player.
Alex Cabrera is an example of the first type of player, while Lou Merloni seemed as though he might fit the bill for the second category but didnt quite get a break in Japan or make the cut when he came back to his homeland. Gabe Kapler illustrates a player in the final and least desirable of the three groups.
First baseman Alex Cabrera, who spent nine seasons in the minors with the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Arizona Diamondbacks, finally got his chance to play Major League Baseball in 2000. In 31 games he hit 5 homer runs, scored 10 runs, knocked in 14 RBI and accumulated a .262 BA. Then, in 2001, the Seibu Lions of the Japan Pacific League bought his contract from the Diamondbacks. For Cabrera it was the perfect move at exactly the right time.
Cabrera immediately became a star in Japan. In his first season he hit .282 with 124 RBI and 49 HR. In 2002, his second season, he won the Pacific Leagues MVP award and tied the single season homerun mark (55) set by the Babe Ruth of Japan, Sadaharu Oh. (Tuffy Rhodes, another former MLB player also tied the record in 2001.)
In 2004, Cabrera hit two homeruns in game three, including a grand slam, and a massive dinger in the seventh game of the Japan Series to help the Seibu Lions defeat the Chunichi Dragons 7-2, leading his team to their first championship since 1992.
Cabrera totes a .308 BA with 413 RBI and 147 HR in his first four years with the Lions. Life is great for the first baseman and he loves Japanese ball. Except for one thing. In an interview with ESPN.com he acknowledged his frustration at not being allowed to break the record set by Sadaharu Oh.
Cabrera noted, “All my teammates wanted me to break the record. A lot of the players on other teams wanted me to break it, too. The pitchers want to throw me strikes but the managers and coaches don’t let them.”
“They didn’t want me to get the record,” he acknowledged. “All records are for the Japanese. The last 20 at-bats of the season, I think I only saw one strike.”
There are aspects of the game with which MLB players have difficulty. Cabrera said it very clearly, when he complained, “Here, if you hit a home run your first at-bat, they walk you the next three. In America, you get a chance to hit more home runs. They challenge you.”
In the same article, former Japanese player and present Yankee Hideki Matsui observed, “In the past there has been more of that sort of unfairness,” Matsui said, sympathizing with Cabrera. “But it has been decreasing in the last couple years and I just hope that in the future it will get better.”
Although Cabrera has found a home with the Lions, hes certainly willing to come back and play in America. In fact, hes anxious to prove that he can hit big league curveballs – something scouts claim he cant do – and pound 40-plus round trippers per season in the majors.
Lou Merloni and Gabe Kapler both did their time in Japan for the same reasons and with similar results. Merloni and Kapler were enticed by the chance to play every day, something that had eluded them when they were both with the Boston Red Sox.
In 2000, Merloni went to the Yokohama Bay Stars with the understanding that he would be the teams regular third baseman. But the player he was supposed to replace decided to stay with the team, and so Merloni spent much of the season on the bench. Although he found it to be a frustrating season, he also thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience.
The game is pretty much the same, except theres a rule prohibiting tie games from going more than 3 extra innings, which means the game ends in a tie. First, there are the pre-game workouts and warm-ups, lasting hours. Then theres all the cigarette smoke – Japanese players light up a lot. Also, theres the fact that when the club is on the road everyone has to dress for the game at the hotel because there are no visiting locker rooms.
The media never tired of asking the third baseman if hed like to marry a Japanese woman. When Merloni answered questions, he often felt his translator was editing his comments along with reporters queries.
Along with the possibility of being an everyday player, theres the bump in salary a player whos been in the states realizes. Usually theyre making six to 10 times what they made in MLB! Thats quite a payday. After Japan, Merloni came back to the Red Sox and played for them and the AAA team for the next three seasons before going to various other major league clubs. He seemed like he might have found a starting role with San Diego part way through the 2003 season, but after 65 games, they dealt him back to the BoSox.
Gabe Kapler was offered a similar opportunity in 2005, and like Merloni, he took it. With a contract valued at approximately $2 million, the utility outfielder was excited about getting to play every day and experience an entirely different culture. But after being a part of Bostons first World Series winning team in 86 years, Japanese ball seemed to lack the spark of the game played in his homeland.
Missing were the overly expressive fans, the rich heritage, and the knock em down rivalries. Kapler also didnt perform up to expectations and found himself sitting on the bench by the second-half of the season. When he got back to the states and was signed by Boston for the rest of the 2005 season, he was overjoyed as were many Red Sox fans, who always admired Kaplers hustle, work ethic and intelligent play.
In a strange twist of fate, the outfielder, who was on first base when Tony Graffanino hit a homer, ruptured his Achilles tendon after rounding second. As Kapler lay in the base path unable to get up and in agonizing pain, it was clear that his 2005 season was over.
In 2006, he was no longer on a major league roster and neither was Merloni, who had played a utility role with Cleveland in 2004. For both players, Japan never panned out, while Alex Cabrera has achieved more than most Japanese players. The irony for Cabrera is that despite his winning ways, the Japanese League will never accept him. That non-acceptance, which seems to affect every foreign player, is one thing that definitely separates baseball in Japan from baseball in America.
Looking for simple, inexpensive toys for your child that require no batteries, assembly, and keep his or her attention for hours? Here are some ideas for simple things around the house that will entertain your children while you accomplish all the things on your to-do list.
1) Play-doh. This is easy to make and lasts for a long time if you keep it in an airtight container. Kids love things that squish and squash, so put down some wax paper and let their imaginations take over! To make play-doh, take two cups of wheat flour, two cups of water, two tablespoons of oil, one-third cup salt, and one-fourth cup cream of tarter and mix them in a saucepan over low-medium heat. Stir until all excess moisture has evaporated and play-doh consistency has been reached. Let cool and store in plastic containers or bags. For a little extra fun, when you mix all the ingredients in the saucepan, add some food coloring for colored play-doh!
2) Boxes. A cardboard box can be colored on, painted, and cut, and can be easily moved or disposed. An empty box can turn into a ship sailing the high seas, a cabin in the woods, or a castle on a hill. Many grocery stores have large, empty boxes that they are willing to give to anyone asking.
3) Pots and pans. When I was little, my mom would pull out her pots, pans, and metal bowls, fill some of them with water, and let my brother and I play cooking. Wed take cups, spoons, measuring cupsanything that could hold waterand transfer water from one pot to the other. We spent hours concocting various brews and soups, and usually ended up soaking ourselves. Because it was just water though, there were no stains to worry about and the mess was relatively easy to mop up.
4) A cheap toy. Never underestimate the power of one small toy. Another story from my childhood: my brother and I had two small action figures that wed gotten from a kids meal. Those two men went everywhere with us! Outside in the dirt, in our little pool, on car rides, and so many other places. They helped us wash dishes, do homework, play in the yard, and kept us entertained for many afternoons. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my brother and I playing with those action figures.
5) Old clothes. Children take great delight in playing adults. Oversized clothes become disguises for miniature CIA agents or fancy outfits for little starlets. Ties, ribbons, shoes, dresses, sunglasses, and dress shirts are especially fun for kids.
Simple things, when seen through the eyes of a child, can become the most fun toy in the world. All you need are a few of these easily-accessible items and a health dose of imagination, and your children will be playing happily for hours!

With the large number of cleaning businesses out there, how do you get your company to stand out? Being a professional in all aspects of your cleaning business will go a long way towards showing your customers and potential customers that you are serious about doing the best job that you can do. Do you have the background, knowledge and experience to become a professional? You bet! Doing the best job that you can do and having a professional attitude is what it takes to show your clients you go that extra step.
There are several factors that come to mind when you think of being a professional in the cleaning business: appearance, dependability, continuing education, pride in your work, treating customers and employees with respect and honesty, and abiding by general etiquette rules.
Appearance: As a cleaning contractor you most likely won’t be wearing a suit and tie, but your appearance is still important and it can leave a lasting impression on people. While cleaning an account your clothes will no doubt become soiled; however, when meeting with clients you should always have a neat and clean appearance. Work shirts with your company name and logo also give you one more way to market your company. Besides your personal appearance, your equipment and company vehicle should be clean. After all, if your clients see that your equipment isn’t clean, what faith will they have in your cleaning abilities?
Dependability: Your cleaning clients depend on you to provide timely services so their buildings are clean for their employees, customers and visitors. Your employees should show up on time and do the work as required. Whether it is just you or your cleaning staff, your clients are depending on you to not only clean, but to do so without breaking items or ruining carpet, flooring or furniture. If something does happen, you need to be a “professional” and let your customer know you will take care of the damages.
Continuing Education: There are constant improvements in chemicals, equipment and cleaning procedures. It is important to realize you can never “know everything”, but be willing to spend a little time every week reading and learning what is new in the industry.
Pride in Your Work: No doubt some jobs will be easier than others, but putting 100% into every job, large and small, can set you apart from the other cleaning companies in your area. There is also nothing more satisfying to any professional than seeing a job well done.
Treating Customers and Employees with Respect: Cleaning customers can be easy to work for or extremely difficult and demanding. It is always easier to smile and say hello to a friendly face, but it is just as important to be friendly to those demanding customers.
Although you may have started your cleaning company as a one-person business, once you have employees on board, treat them as individuals and valued members of your team. Ask for their opinions and be open to their ideas. Make sure that your employees know what you expect of them and that they too are expected to act as professionals.
Honesty: Be honest with your clients about the services you provide and what those services cost. Stick by the guidelines set out in the agreements that you have with your clients. And don’t be afraid to let a cleaning customer know there are services that you do not provide if you do not have the staff, equipment or knowledge to do a job properly.
Also abide by the following general etiquette guidelines:
* Leave your personal problems at home and your work problems at work – even if you work out of your home make sure there is a separation between the two.
* Avoid the use of foul language.
* Don’t eat, smoke or drink on the job.
* Stay out of desk drawers and file cabinets and don’t read loose papers that are left on desks and tables.
* Don’t take any items from customers even if it something that they threw in the trash.
* Don’t use a customer’s phones unless you have permission to do so and then only in an emergency or if it is required for you (or your employees) to clock in and clock out.
Your cleaning company can stand out from the crowd by incorporating the above guidelines into its everyday routines and practices. A true professional is someone who takes pride in their work and is always willing to go that extra mile. Putting that little extra in to what you’re doing will show your customers that you are the best one for the job!

For that to work though, your friend has to be registered and there will usually be a subscription charge to pay before you can contact them.
Similarly, if youve recently changed your own email address, how do you make sure youve told everyone, or that you can catch people who try to get in touch after a few years of no contact?
The ideal solution is also on the internet: services that let you set up a single account for all your old email addresses. People can find you via your old details and you can be sent a message letting you know that someones trying to get in touch with you. Whether you respond is up to you after all, there may be some people that you dont want to renew your friendship with. But for most people, online services like these help you to ensure that everyone who wants to get in touch with you can; or that you can find someone you thought youd lost touch with for ever.
Ever felt how wonderful it is to have your name in print for the first time? This is not just any ordinary printing with you name and details in them. They are your own business cards. Any other of these cards would contain names, addresses and contact numbers. That would be the typical business card.
These days, business cards are made into marketing tools to promote the owners business and a source of advertisement that serves as reminders for people reading them. As small as these cards may see, they have been a necessity for information getting since then. These have become the perfect equipment for entrepreneurs to be able to get clients and stay of their competitors.
As a marketing tool, these small prints need all the marketing strategy they can get to maintain effectiveness. Using all the right techniques with the modern machines, you have made the perfect business card. This would mean that you have gotten the attention of the holder. The next big thing to be considered is the content of the card. Does it appeal as much as the designs do? The most commonly overlooked marketing factor in business cards is the message that the card conveys. What does it say to the people reading them?
Having the perfect look and designs does not always guarantee customer response using these cards. It is important to note the words that are used to describe the business, its products and the services rendered.
To begin with, the slogan or logo should be able to make the reader isolate your card from others. People tend to just set aside these cards along with other cards and files, to be searched on later when the need arises. Making your card as unique and a standout would distinguish it from those others. When the time comes for it to be of use, something about the card that the readers have seen would come to mind and they would remember that certain card. It could be the printed words, or the drawings that are inherent in them, or a design that was stuck to memory. Or the contents. It gives them a good reason to choose and call you.
A bottom line that is irresistible would definitely arouse enough interest to set you apart from the rest. An example is phrases that offers discounts, new products and promos. These can guarantee customers coming and going back to know more. Putting motivational lines that opens the door for them to respond to you is also a must. It is best to not let customers left hanging in confusion as to what to do next after reading your cards. Guide them on what to do next by giving hints about it in your cards. There is always no harm in a bit of guidance.
Business cards may be small and seemingly insignificant, but they are also easy carriages. Whats more, they are continuously being passed on. You never know who its next holder would be.

Do you feel excited when thinking about buying a timeshare. Are you thinking about all the wonderful places that you can go on vacation? Going to vacation spots that can be secluded and quiet. How about sitting by the pool, looking at the mountain scenery. Thinking of seeing the wonders of nature. Take care. There can be trouble ahead. You want all the best but you may not receive everything that you are entitled to. And you could end up having to pay more money then you wanted to and not get what you deserve. Listen to this…
I was minding my own business when one day I was run over by the timeshare express. And what did that express cost me – how about $10,000. You would think for 10 grand I would have gotten exactly what I wanted – not so. When you go to a timeshare presentation all you are thinking about is the free weekend and a few gifts. Don’t make that mistake!! The timeshare industry is growing faster then ever. They are selling more units and grossing more money. So if you want to own a timeshare then do not go to a presentation with your eyes shut.
I am sure you did not wake up one morning and find yourself at a timeshare presentation. How did you get there? Most people receive a wonderfully exciting invitation in the mail. And you think…I am going to get a free weekend… No strings attached. Listen to this figure. You may not believe this, but up to 25% of people just like you, who hear a presentation, buy a timeshare. Don’t say it can’t happen to you! Because you just may end up paying over $10,000 for that weekend and some free gifts. And remember, the money is not free. Either you have to take it from savings of let the timeshare people finance the purchase. And what do you think the interest rate is going to be… How about 17%.
Timeshare salesman are better then used car salesman. Not only are they better at getting you to buy, but they have you captured for several hours. And during that time they are telling you about features of the plan that sound great. Except for the fact that most of it is not true. Do not be fooled!! You cannot exchange a studio in the off season in the middle of nowhere for a two bedroom beach front in Hawaii. Not going to happen. You can own a timeshare for significantly less then what is being forced on you at the presentation. Remember this…The salesman makes a commission on each sale that they make. Sometimes up to 40% of the purchase price. You are paying for their lifestyle.
All of the above can be summed up in two words – be careful. Critique everything that is being told to you. Don’t be shy and ask questions. Read and re-read everything that you sign. Education is the best friend that you have. Never assume you know enough – being properly educated can save you over $10,000.
Digital photography printing has opened new avenues for amateur and professional photographers alike. For most photographers, the backup of digital photography printing offers unprecedented freedom to get the best shots. No more worrying about wasting that precious piece of film running out, in addition to not knowing for sure that anything worthwhile is on it!
However, when it comes to getting the printing done, there are a few things one should keep in mind to prevent wasting too much of quality photo paper, and the costly printing ink. In this article, well review a few basic terms related to digital photography and offer a few tips on getting the best prints.
Resolution
Resolution refers to the ‘image-sharpness’ of a document, and is usually measured in dots (or pixels) per inch (DPI). It also refers to the image-sharpness that printers and monitors are capable of reproducing. Depending on your particular needs, documents can be scanned at various resolutions. The higher the resolution of a document, greater the image-sharpness, and larger the file size will be.
With digital photography printing in mind, the first thing you need to ensure is that you download the pictures at their full resolution. If in the end, you have 72dpi (dots per inch) pictures, your print quality will be useless. A 72dpi resolution is good for viewing on your computer screen, but an image with 200 to 300dpi will give a good quality 8×10 inch print.
Pixel
Pixel is short for Picture Element. It is the smallest part of a digital image, and each image is comprised of thousands or millions of pixels. This basic unit, from which a video or computer picture is made, is essentially a dot with a given colour and brightness value. The more pixels an image has, the higher the resolution of that image will be. One Megapixel is equal to one million pixels.
JPEG
Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) is a standards committee that designed this image compression format. The compression format they designed is known as a lossy compression, as it deletes information from an image that it considers unnecessary. JPEG files can range from small amounts of lossless compression to large amounts of lossy compression. This is a common standard on the World Wide Web, but the data loss generated in its compression makes it undesirable for printing purposes.
When dealing with digital photography printing, you will mostly work with the JPEG file format. Remember that every time you open and save a JPEG file, you lose some of the image information. Therefore, it is advisable to do all the changes in one sitting, and then save them only once.
Resolution Guide to Quality Prints
The higher number of megapixels a camera has, the more detail an image will retain when enlarged and/or printed.
1 to 2 Megapixels
Cameras with this resolution range are sufficient for sending photos electronically via email, but are not ideal for printing photos. Most camera phones, PC camcorders, and PC cameras have a resolution in the 1 to 2 megapixel range.
3 to 4 Megapixels
Cameras with this resolution range are good for printing and retouching the standard 4×6 inch images.
5 to 6 Megapixels
Cameras with this resolution range produce professional results when enlarging photos up to an 8×10 inch format.
7+ Megapixels
Cameras with a resolution range of at least 7 megapixels promise superior quality and detail when printing or enlarging photos beyond the 11×14 inch format.
By simply looking at the file size, you will quickly learn to be an expert judge on quality. A picture of 100kb (kilobytes) or less is most probably too low-resolution for good quality digital printing. Once you get to a minimum size of 400kb, you are working with a more useful resolution for an 8×10 inch print.
Printing Paper
If you’re proud of your photographic effort, or if you want those family shots to be available for the next generation, you will definitely want your prints to be done on decent paper. Needless to say, in the end, your prints will be only as good as the paper you use.
There are many new coated papers available on the market specifically for this purpose, and you should consider what is recommended for the printer you are using.
Archival paper, popular in the world of inkjet printing, is the longest-lasting paper and it is acid-free. These printing papers don’t come cheap, so plan carefully. Print only after final cropping, or on completion of other changes, such as after the addition of a border with your imaging software.
Regular colour inkjet and laser printers are good for text and charts, but not always best for digital photography printing. PictBridge-enabled printers allow you to print your digital photographs directly from the camera. Portable printers, such as the HP Photosmart 320 series, allow you to take a picture and print 4×6 inch sized pictures anywhere on the move.
Incidentally, for smaller 4×6 inch prints, dye-sublimation printers give outstanding quality prints, and they are generally waterproof. However, the materials for such printing do not come cheap!
If you cannot get satisfactory results with your own digital photography printing, especially if you’re printing larger than 8×10 inch sized images, you could try one of the brick-and-mortar, or even online photo labs that make use of dedicated photo printers with excellent results.
Photo labs can easily handle digital files directly from your memory card. Take your digital camera, a homemade CD, or your cameras memory card along for professional quality digital photography printing.
Many people on a healing path have found it extremely challenging to heal their shame. Yet when you understand the purpose of shame, you will be able to move beyond it.
Shame is the feeling that there is something basically wrong with you. Whereas the feeling of guilt is about DOING something wrong, shame is about BEING wrong at the core. The feeling of shame comes from the belief that, I am basically flawed, inadequate, wrong, bad, unimportant, undeserving, or not good enough.
At some early point in our lives, most of us absorbed this false belief that causes the feeling of shame. As a result of not feeling seen, loved, valued, and understood, we developed the belief that we were not being loved because there was something wrong with us. While some children were told outright that they were not okay that they were stupid, bad, or undeserving other children concluded that there was something wrong with them by the way they were being treated.
Once we establish our core shame belief, we become addicted to it because it serves us in two primary ways:
1) It gives us a feeling of control over other peoples feelings and behavior.
As long as we believe that we are the cause of others rejecting behavior, then we can believe that there is something we can do about it. It gives us a sense of power to believe that others are rejecting us or behaving in unloving ways because of our inadequacy. If is our fault, then maybe we can do something about it by changing ourselves, by doing things right. We hang on to the belief that our inadequacy is causing others behavior because we dont want to accept others free will to feel and behave however they want. We dont want to accept our helplessness over others feelings and behavior.
2) It protects us from other feelings that we are afraid to feel, and gives us a sense of control over our own feelings.
As bad as shame feels, many people prefer it to the feelings that shame may be covering up loneliness, grief, sadness, sorrow, or helplessness over others. Just as anger may be a cover-up for these difficult feelings, so is shame. Shame is totally different than loneliness or grief or helplessness over others: While shame is a feeling that we are causing by our own false beliefs, loneliness, grief, sadness, sorrow, or helplessness over others are existential feelings – feelings that are a natural result of life. We feel grief over losing someone we love, or loneliness when we want to connect with someone or play with someone and there is no one around or no one open to connection, love or play. Many people would rather feel an awful feeling that they are causing, rather than feel the authentic painful feelings of life.
If you are finding it difficult to move beyond shame, it is because you are addicted to the feeling of control that your shame-based beliefs give you control over others feelings and behavior and control over your own authentic feelings. As long as having the control is most important to you, you will not let go of your false core shame beliefs.
You will heal from your shame when:
1) You are willing to accept that others feelings and behavior have nothing to do with you. When you accept that others have free will to be open or closed, loving or unloving – that you are not the cause of their feelings and behavior and you no longer take others behavior personally – you will have no need to control it. When you let go of your need to control others and instead move into compassion for others, you will let go of your false beliefs about yourself that cause the feeling of shame.
2) You are willing to feel your authentic feelings rather than cover them up with anger or shame. When you learn to nurture yourself by being present with caring and compassion for your own existential feelings, you will no longer have a need to protect against these feelings with blame or shame.
Control and shame are intricately tied together. When you give up your attachment to control and instead choose compassion toward yourself and others, you will find your shame disappearing.
RX Processing Corp.’s CEO Peter Fiorillo is serious about supporting the passage of the Dorgan-Snowe bill that is currently trying to make its way through Congress. He is so serious that he has implemented a campaign that allows citizens to enter into a lottery to win his first year’s salary: 500,000 shares of company stock.
The shares have a market value of around $100,000. By doing this, Fiorillo hopes to draw attention to the grassroots efforts of not only RX Processing Corp. but countless others who are devoted to the legalization of prescription drug importation to the United States.
RX Processing Corp. is a company that utilizes licensed American pharmacies and a licensed pharmacy group from Canada to help Americans obtain prescription drugs from safe and affordable suppliers outside the United States.
Many other countries, including Canada, offer the same medications for a much lower cost to consumers. As for safety, Canadian standards meet or exceed U.S. Food and Drug Administration drug safety requirements, Fiorillo says.
The growing issue of rising U.S. prescription drug costs is causing concern across the country. One of the biggest sectors of the population dramatically affected by this problem is senior citizens. Many are bound by fixed incomes and do not have full prescription drug care coverage.
Overall, there are upward of 43 million Americans that are uninsured, and millions more that have insurance yet do not have comprehensive prescription drug coverage. Due to this discrepancy, many people are faced with daily decisions that force them to choose between life saving medications and other needs.
Due to current regulations, the FDA does not advise individuals to import prescription drugs, even though many Americans are requesting the U.S. government to allow them to do so. The goal of the Dorgan-Snowe bill is to change this situation.
One of the biggest benefits of the bill is that it would not only allow the importation of prescription drugs from Canada – where prescription drugs are 30 percent to 80 percent cheaper – but it would also revolutionize the health care industry by opening up the doors to competition and choice. Growing public pressure is what prompted the drafting of the bill in the first place, and grassroots efforts within the senior community are helping to propel the cause even further.
If you have had trouble managing your money, you may find yourself in debt to credit card and loan companies. It can be stressful and even embarrassing to be in this position, but the best approach is to confront the problem head on and try and work out a solution with your creditors. Failure to pay your credit card bills or general loan repayments may result in court action and bad credit ratings, but the only time you are in danger of losing your home is if you fail to keep up your mortgage repayments.
Even the most well-intentioned homeowner can fall behind with their mortgage payments. Unexpected illness, bereavement, depression, divorce or unemployment are all reasons why many people have trouble maintaining payment. Most mortgage companies are willing to give you a chance to catch up with your payments, or work out a revised schedule, but if you dont do this, or you fail to keep to the new schedule, you could be in danger of losing your home. How can you prevent this?
1. Dont ignore letters from your mortgage company
After youve missed a number of payments, your mortgage company will write to you, asking you to contact them. It might be easy to put the letter to one side, but it can do you more harm than good in the long term. Instead, call your mortgage company and ask for a meeting so that you can explain your circumstances and work out a revised payment schedule.
2. Make every effort to pay your debts
If you have other debts as well as your mortgage and you are struggling to pay everything, look at ways you can cut your expenditure to help catch up with payments. Showing that you are making an effort to pay your debts may delay the mortgage company applying for a court order to repossess your home.
3. Talk to repossession experts
If your payment problems have reached the stage where repossession is a real threat, you may need to talk to specialist lenders. They can help arrange fast finance that allows you to repay your debts and keep your home. Alternatively, they can arrange a quick house sale so that you can clear your debts completely and start again.
Face up to your money difficulties and talk to financial experts that can help you stay in your home.
Defensive Driving techniques are increasingly seen as necessary by professional drivers. There are a lot of unskilled and reckless drivers on our roads today and drivers who drive defensively are less likely to be involved in an accident with one.
What is Defensive Driving? Essentially it is driving your vehicle correctly, while at the same time adjusting your driving to take into account the possible and actual actions of less experienced or more aggressive drivers.
You can do courses in Defensive Driving, and this should be your aim. You can only learn so much by reading.
How do I drive defensively?
1. Expect the unexpected. There may be a runaway horse galloping towards you just around that blind bend. Hey, there was a man killed in Ireland in March 2006 by running into two horses!
2. Expect aggression from other drivers, but avoid reacting to that aggression.
3. Use your mirrors and be aware of everything that is going on around you.
4. Know the dimensions of your car, so that you know exactly how far you can pull over, if necessary.
5. Avoid loud music while you are driving. You need to be aware of everything that is happening to your vehicle and to others on the road around you.
6. Make sure your vehicle is well maintained, with tire pressures set correctly. If your vehicle is well maintained you will be able to adjust your speed more quickly and more safely to traffic and other conditions on the road around you.
7. Driving needs all of your attention, all of the time. Make sure your passengers understand that. Avoid smoking, using the phone, or drinking soda while you are driving.
Look for clues as to what other drivers are going to do.
These clues may be simple ones like the lowered suspension favored by many aggressive drivers, or the direction another driver is looking in.
Look which way the front wheels are turned.
Listen for gear changes that signify another driver is getting ready to accelerate.
Watch the line other drivers take as they approach intersections, it gives you a good indication of where they are going, even if they do not use indicators.
Look out for small children in other vehicles, they may distract the driver at a crucial instant.
Muscle injuries occur when we overuse or strain our bodies. Anyone who had experienced muscle problems will tell you that they are extremely painful and can be disruptive to everything you do. There are numerous types of muscle injuries since our bodies are mostly composed of hundreds of them. Usually, athletes are the most prone to muscle injuries because of their rigid training, heavy work outs and other activities that needs maximum physical strength. Muscle injuries must be looked up to immediately so as not to re-injure the area of the severed muscle over and over. The more you use the injured muscles, the more that you will harm yourself and it will prolong the healing time and ultimately you risk permanent damage.
